2021 Was a Gift

Facebook has reminded me in the last few days of 2021 that we’ve been having tough years as far back as 2016. I’m not making light of struggles and strife, it is just strengthening us to be more resilient. I admit 2020 was a total suck fest for most of us. However, I made it through. The end of 2020 helped me come to where I knew I needed to make changes. It gave me the courage to take the leap in 2021 and start the Better To Podcast. While I was resistant to do it, it ultimately has taught me a lot about the world and who I am. The podcast made me see things I need to work on and how I could better myself and my life. While other things haven’t been perfect, I made it to 2022.

The one thing I’ve learned is that life will give us challenges to see if we can push through. Sometimes we say we want something, but we don’t want to put the work in. Going into 2022 has pushed me to realize that I can aim high and be thankful for what I have in my life. While I will go after my dreams, I realize that doing so gives me satisfaction and joy. That’s the one thing all of us need to have in our life. If we do something that we’re passionate about, whether it be work or a hobby, it suddenly gives us joy. Life feels more rewarding and it can make our mood and life much better.

Please understand that I know life isn’t all about rainbows and unicorns. All of us have dark days, those days where things just don’t feel like they will get better, but the truth is the wheel always turns. Remember to never give up. Just keep going because you never know what can happen in 2022. Hang in there.
